Auctions Overview

  • Preview Friday prior to auction from 9am-5pm

  • Registration during the preview or on auction day at 8:00 a.m.

  • All auctions start at 9:00 a.m.

  • Auction held rain or shine

  • We will only cancel an auction in icy conditions when advised against driving. In case the auction is cancelled, it will be held the following Saturday.

  • By signing the Auction Registration form, you are agreeing to ALL auction rules and conditions

Auction Rules

  • You must register and receive a bidder’s card to bid.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid picture ID issued by a state or governmental agency.

  • You must pay a $300.00 cash deposit, refundable after the auction if you do not make a purchase. If you make a purchase, the $300.00 cash will be applied to your purchase. Unused deposits are held for 7 days.

  • All purchases must be paid for on the day of the auction. Late fees of $25.00 per vehicle per day will be assessed for payments made after the day of the auction. You have until the Wednesday after the auction to remove vehicles.

  • Only vehicles with a current inspection will be issued a paper e-tag on the day of the auction. It is important to inspect vehicles prior to auction. If a vehicle does not have a current inspection, the buyer is responsible for acquiring one before a temporary plate can be issued. Paper plates are good for sixty days from the date of sale.

  • Sales Tax of 6.25%, title fee of $33.00 for vehicles and $30.00 for boats, registration fees and buyer’s fees (see buyer’s fee schedule) will be added to the sales price or winning bid price of each unit. In the event of a boat with an outboard motor and a trailer, buyers may pay three title fees and three registration fees.

  • The vehicle title will be issued in the registered buyers name only. Any changes to the buyer information after the winning bid has been awarded will be charged $50.00 per unit. Vehicles are only assigned to registered bidders.

  • You must show your bill of sale to remove any unit from the auction lot. We are closed on Sunday. Buyers will have assistance immediately following the auction, but will be required to remove the unit themselves. Tow services are available locally.

  • Charitable Auto Recycling is not responsible for damage to any unit, parts of units or other after the winning bid as been declared. It is the buyer’s responsibility to lock their unit and remove from the auction lot as soon as possible.

  • The auctioneer is the final authority in any and all disputes arising from the sale of all vehicles.

  • The auctioneer, staff and charity staff reserve the right to bid on any unit. Consignment sellers also reserve the right to bid on their own units directly or by proxy through an agent or auction staff.

  • C.A.R. reserves the right to bid for an absentee bidder.

  • Any statements made by the auctioneer on the day of the auction supersede any printed or oral statements made prior to the auction.


  • Each lot constitutes a separate sale. One money–one lot.

2018 Auction Fee Schedule

Auction buyers will be responsible for the following fees, charges and payments. These charges are nonnegotiable for all buyers. All payments must be made on the day of the auction or a $15 per day per vehicle late payment fee will apply. Failure to pay for any winning bid will result in forfeiture of your deposit. Vehicles must be removed by Wednesday at 5:00pm or will be subject to a $25.00 per day per vehicle storage fee. Only vehicles with a current inspection will be issued a sixty day temporary plate. All vehicles are sold AS-IS, Where-IS, No Guarantee expressed or implied. Titles will be issued in the registered bidders name only. Buyers who wish to change the name of the purchaser will pay a $50.00 fee per vehicle administration charge.

A refundable bidder deposit in the amount of $300 must be made in CASH in order to register.
