Proxy bidding, what is it and how do I do it?
There are two ways to bid on a vehicle that you want online. The first way is by Proxy Bid. Proxy bidding is when the computer bids for you, up to a maximum amount that you select. The software will never exceed that maximum amount. You would need to raise your maximum manually. The software will then automatically place bids for you in the preset increment for that car, $25 for example, and it will continue to do so for you until either a.) someone outbids your maximum bid, or b.) no more bidding takes place on the vehicle and your bid amount is the high bid. Proxy bidding will continue even during the actual auction events (10am Saturdays). The second way to bid is to wait until the auction begins on Saturday morning, and bid against all other bidders in attendance and against proxy bids still in effect. Proxy bidding can take place as soon as a vehicle is placed in an auction. If your proxy is outbid, you will get an email notification.
Please be careful with placing any bids in the auction, proxy or not. If you place a winning bid, you will be responsible for the purchase of the vehicle. If you need assistance with proxy bidding you can also call or email our office, and we can help.
